Swimming Pool Alarms Save Lives
Why Install Pool Alarms?
Swimming pool alarms are an essential part of ensuring the health
and safety of those you love. We all hope that you never experience an
accident in or around the pool area, but if such an accident were to occur
the presence of pool accessories designed to alert you, commonly known
as pool alarms, will help you to avoid disaster. Pool safety should be
a prime concern of every pool owner. Thankfully the industry has responded
to this need by providing a wide range of products specifically designed
to increase the level of safety of your home swimming pool.
The Different Types Of Pool Alarms
Just which are the different types of swimming pool alarms and safety
devices available?
Pool Entry Detection Alarms
A
pool entry detection alarm, like the one pictured here, is designed to
sound an alarm when someone or something enters the pool. This alarm is
easy to turn off during periods when the pool is being used for swimming.
There are two main methods employed in pool entry detection alarm systems.
A laser detection system sometimes referred to as the "pool eye"
resembles many home alarm systems whereby an alarm is sounded when the
laser's field is broken. The other method commonly used in this sort of
pool alarm is a sensor that extends into the water and is activated by
any waves created by somebody or something falling into the swimming pool.
Because this alarm is located below the pool's surface it is not as susceptible
to false alarms (leaves & debris falling into the pool) as the laser
method. It should be noted, however, that these sensors can have limited
range and it would be a good idea to install at least two of these alarms
(one at each end) of any substantially sized swimming pool. Some pool
entry detection alarms employ both the laser and underwater sensor methods
to maximize security. Some models come with remote alarms that allow an
alarm to go off inside the house when somebody falls into the swimming
pool.
User Entry Pool Alarms
User entry pool alarms are designed to be worn on the body and sound
an alarm when they come in contact with water. These are great to ensure
the safety of your children and pets. These style alarms often come in
fun shapes so children will enjoy wearing them and operate on rechargeable
batteries. These features make pool user entry alarms a great choice to
protect the little ones you love.
Door, Gate & Window Alarms for the Pool Area
One
way to keep the pool area safe is to regulate access to the area. This
can be achieved through use of door, gate, and window alarms. These simple-to-install
alarms come in many shapes and styles but all have the same purpose: To
alert the home owner that somebody has entered the enclosed pool area.
Voice Alert & Aquavision Monitors Increase Pool
Safety
There
is no substitute for parental supervision when it comes to the swimming
pool. Most accidents occur when some sort of distraction takes place.
At these times devices designed to monitor the action in and around the
pool area can give you the precious seconds you need to respond to an
accident and avert disaster. One of these alarms is a voice alert alarm.
It sounds voice alerts when it detects movement in the pool area. Another
effective tool for monitoring the pool is through use of a monitor. These
monitors allow you to monitor the pool area visually from any part of
your house. The best part is that these monitors are available in wireless
models, whereby pictures are broadcast via frequencies, making remote
viewing easier than ever!
Pool Alarms & Peace of Mind
As we've mentioned before, we hope that pool alarms are never necessary
to save your life or the lives of your loved ones. But just in case they
ever are, we hope you've taken the time and money to add various levels
of security to your swimming pool area. If nothing else, knowing you've
taken all available steps to ensure the safety of your loved ones will
help you to sleep a little better each night.
